Pre-Requisites
Complete the pre-course at this site, www.heart.org/eccstudent and enter this code for ACLS: acls15, enter this code for PALS: pals15, and present it when checking into class.
To be eligible for these classes, you must either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient (starting IV, giving meds or using a defibrillator) whether in or out of a hospital.
If you are re-certifying you must have current ACLS and/or PALS card at check-in.
Working knowledge of EKG rhythm strips and cardiovascular pharmacology is required.
Be prepared to actively participate in class during lecture, skills practice, and case-based scenarios that take place during the course.
Provider books are available for check out in most hospital libraries. You may also check with RN Educator/Manager and/or EMS Educator/Clinical Coordinator for current copy of the book.
